Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment by adding new affixes. They can also improve its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Typically objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases such as eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies or as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players must select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.

There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, are able to be used in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of item upgrader names. For instance the addition of a Glyph will transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and then replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, excluding inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from previous versions. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item is able to be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the cost of upgrades across several items.

Once an item has been finished being leveled, it will be eligible for an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it will reset to zero in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.

When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's type. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will have no more than two affixes available for it, whereas a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level and in what slot it is in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item doesn't reach its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the choice to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower success rate.

Engineers will use a level in order to compare the height of the building to a known location, such as a benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level and then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can increase the damage, strength, or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be handled with care.

The game lets players recycle upgraded items, and use them to earn reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable item upgrades. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the level of filling.

In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you could receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other items. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be a great or bad thing dependent on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may also be equipped with a special, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you improve a product, the greater your chance of obtaining a unique bonus.

The game also includes several sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on an item. This is a great way to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling can provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in various ways. They can be of various sizes, contain none at all, or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or sort information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways such as size and shape.

There are a variety of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that provide high defense value and set bonuses. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not improve the stats of the item when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique functions that are beneficial for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item Upgrader kit's attributes and the necessary items needed to upgrade item it. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements of specific items.

Generally speaking generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with spell/weapon damage glyphs, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial increase in their power. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
