The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept at cleaning dog hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our top option. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's thus susceptible to become stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.

It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also very quiet and you can use it when you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. And, if you need to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few minutes.

Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also features an impressive suction system and a self-emptying bin. It's the best automatic vacuum and mop robot hoover for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combo uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. You can alter the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a room with carpet which prevents cross-contamination. 3. iRobot Roomba X40

The robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models from the competition. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuum reviews vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum uk vacuum/mop that has 100% in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work or in the evening when you're trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, but it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's more expensive and make more noise.

Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot vacuum cleaner best employs an array of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than its top rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

It also mopses using a single pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through the mapping process, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to organize a spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
