WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader kit upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrader mod that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar Best item upgrade will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other items. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using a button, which will display a preview of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and current item level upgrade (Going Here) level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is true even if the items come from another set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available when certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade item path. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
