The best automatic vacuum and mop Robot Hoover

The best robotic mop and vacuum robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as dirt detectors) are a plus.

Make sure to check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them when necessary. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger bin in the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top choice), they use smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots that vacuum and mop also come with Carpet Boost, a feature that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests of floors with no carpet They are also adept in removing dog hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our top option. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good deal particularly if your home or office has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or going to school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. And, if you need to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can alter the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones with the well-designed app. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to remove and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was great and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy models from the competition. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score 100% in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in mornings prior to work or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and better-looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however, it will cost you more and create more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home depending on the amount of dirt they are.

If you own a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. A stairway mode is useful if you have a lot furniture. Also the recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd expect from its price tag. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or create a spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for better performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like adorable eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
