Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills, stains) in one go without having to swap out devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its relatively modest price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide can get you running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly application that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For instance, you could opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed - but just a glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that indicates when maintenance is needed like emptying the debris and washing the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand however we would like to be able to distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuums with mop vacuum and mop, is the most recent version. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might overlook.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its course in a way that is automatic vacuum and mop and clean around them without stumbling.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.

The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed), it's a pain to remove the mount itself to wash manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes dry mess, including pet hair and dust. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for pads. Additionally the X40 is extremely quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture that is low-profile, making it a great choice for small apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that enables the X40 to avoid damaging floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or separately. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is simple to use and intuitive The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive on the market and comes with a lot of extra features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature in its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This feature is great because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are plenty of options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app, or via direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customising the cleaning process, and there are numerous features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white colors that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it is sturdy and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
