WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade items increases item level by 3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with higher variance due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item upgrades used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade items weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with a button, which will display a preview of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require several methods that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less even if they are part of a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available after certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an item level upgrade (visit the website) that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of equipment being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests only have one usage therefore it's essential to use them wisely. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
