The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates, and at times it's difficult to know if the update is actually working until you've seen it in action.

If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once it's in place the process of emptying the bin is relatively simple. It also features an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't an essential feature for everyone however it can aid in keeping track of the maintenance intervals for your robot with ease.

This means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of your home. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.

While it doesn't offer as many in terms of cleaning options available in its app or as many in-app shortcuts like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for an all-around great budget robot vacuum vacuum and mop that's worth the higher price cost.

The app takes you through several steps to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located near an outlet with plenty of room to move.
