World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can be prefixed or a suffix that alters the name of the item to which it is used (for instancefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure what will be improved after an update.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive, and it is possible that the item will be obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate chances of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.

In the final game you'll find that the Best item upgrade way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a statistic by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs as well as some rare glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in strategic spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example an Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, however, you may also want to think about placing them near crucial damage nodes too.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item level upgrade, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This can be a downside in that the item could become more expensive even if you don't require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is very useful in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of the non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader [describes it] NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to revert to its original state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it increases its crit chance it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade items. For example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For instance, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to bring each piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
