The 10 Scariest Things About Robots That Vacuum And Mop
robots that vacuum And mop (hikvisiondb.webcam)
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills and staining) in one time without the need to switch out devices. They can also help save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its modest price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide can get you running in no time with a full dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The automatic vacuum and mop robot comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only issue is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks need to be done like emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand, though we would have liked to be able distinguish between a automatic vacuum and mop robot and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. This year's model has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic hoovers cleaners may miss.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can alter its path automatically and clean around them, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto-refills.
The only issue I have found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise.

This is a great feature that allows the X40 to prevent damage to floors from excessive back-and forth movements.
Unlike some other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or separately. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient.
