1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize intelligent mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it spots an abundance of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept in removing hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.
It's still a great option for those who want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it while you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also has a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on different rooms and floors with various flooring types including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an easy mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings prior to work or at night when you are trying to fall asleep.

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also comes with an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house based on how dirty the areas are.
If you own a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have lot furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be extremely useful.

The RX3 is more intelligent than the price suggests. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad that has an oscillating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying, washable base.
The iRobot app is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean a specific area.
