WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade item boosts the level of an item upgrade by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item upgrader mod at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require a variety of means that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a particular item level upgrade level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that same item level will cost less even when they are part of another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to gear of a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.

The use of these currencies isn't too difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one use, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
