WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade increases item upgrader kit level by 3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with a button, which will show a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item upgrader mod and the current item level. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item level Upgrade is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

item upgrading upgraders can be found in a variety of locations including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a benefit and a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade items to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less even when they are part of a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an item upgrader mod that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type or gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

The use of these currencies isn't too difficult however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another notable modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best gear you have available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
