It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.
As with other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's still quite a noisy unit, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing with a bit more noise and some additional cost it's a capable two-in-one that should delight most.
