Boosters
There are many boosts available with an item upgrader. These could include stats, as well as bonus bonuses. These bonuses can be applied to weapons or armor, as well as trinkets. They can be used to improve the abilities of a character, or they can be added as an aspect of variety to a build.
The upgrade system in World of Warcraft allows players to upgrade the quality of their equipment by spending currency at an item upgrader NPC. The system was introduced in Mists of Pandaria and was extended with the release of Warlords of Draenor. It's a simple method to raise the level of your equipment, which lets you to skip the grind and avoid a lot of wipes in Mythic+ Dungeons.
When an item is upgraded its type of base changes. Upgrading a normal item will result in an item that is Exceptional and upgrading an Exceptional item will create an Elite version of the same base item. The item will be able to keep the stats it had prior to upgrading, and will receive an additional bonus of its new base type. This bonus is randomly selected. It could be a weapon with an increased damage range, an improved reloading speed, or an increased max defense roll.
The amount of extras you can get with an upgrade depends on the number of upgrades done. Each upgrade will boost the extras in question by an increment of 1 up to a maximum of 3. Each upgrade will also boost the main stats by +1.
In addition to the stat increases, some upgrades will also provide a random boost. These boosts can be extremely valuable and should be considered when deciding which items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are suitable for specific builds (such as Whistan's shield for FB sorcs) while others can provide an enormous amount of value to certain collectors.
Some items come with built-in boos which is less effective when upgraded. For instance, the Goldwrap has an extra slots for potion. These are usually upgraded to add value to a near-perfect or perfect item.
Costs
There are a few expenses related to upgrades of items. The first is the cost of performing the upgrade. The cost for this upgrade can be costly and is dependent on the new level of the item as well as the number of perks it gets. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be expensive.
The other is the cost of the materials required to upgrade. These are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. These materials are available in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.
It takes time to upgrade an item. It can take 8 hours, depending on the size of the upgrade. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated based on the new ilvl of the item bonuses, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other important statistics. In some cases an upgrade may grant additional perks. These perks are available on a list.
In rare cases the upgrade will only replace the highest-costing perks. The upgrader may also make other modifications to the item, for example, changing its weapon damage type or eliminating an operational or unwieldy feature. These modifications are based on the item's ilvl. They may also require special materials, such as the adamantine.
Success Rate
Upgrades to items are based on a chance, and like any random system, there is the possibility that the upgrade won't succeed. There are a few ways to increase the chances of success. This includes using an item called an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of additional materials to the upgrade.
An Upgrade Pity is an best item Upgrader that you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chance of an upgrade succeeding by some percentage. It is similar to the luck bonus some items have but is more solid. It can be added to any weapon or armor and can be used up to three times.
You can also add other materials to the upgrade to increase its chances of success. These are displayed in a window that is above the + button. There are however limitations to this, and the maximum amount of material that can be added is displayed right above the + button in the user interface.
Another method to increase the chance of an upgrade achieving success is by using an item upgrader kit known as a Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is useful in the event that you have an item upgrade or weapon gear that has reached the maximum level for its tier or is close to it. This item lets you upgrade the equipment to the next tier without the risk of it breaking.
If an upgrade is unsuccessful it will be restored to its initial state. This is usually a downgrade, but could also be an upgrade. It is recommended to save an upgrade when you're near the maximum level of an item, and to use it as a last resort.
There are many items in the Kafra shop that can be used to improve the odds of a successful upgrade. You can increase your chances of success by upgrading equipment several times using HD Oridecon and HD Elunium. The success rate will also be increased if you can increase the chance of getting a Double Mint by Shoe-Minting five times.
Failure Rate
The upgrader for items allows players to add an extra card slot into their equipment. These slots can be used to apply an enchantment or upgrade an item. It is important to keep in mind that not all items are upgradeable. The rate of upgrade and enchantment depends on the rank of the item. The higher the item's rank is, the more Zeny items will be needed to upgrade it.
This system is expensive particularly if you are looking for high-level gear. Upgrades to armor and weapons can cost as much as 100,000 Z or 100 Carnium. The success rate also decreases as you go up in rank. However, you can make use of cash shop items to increase the chances of completing an upgrade successfully.
Normal Upgrade is the most basic upgrade that can be performed on weapons, armor pieces and bicycles. It uses different grades of core, depending on the type of item. Most commonly, lower grade items will require low grade cores while items with higher quality will require more expensive cores.
You must have the proper number of cores before you can perform a normal upgrade. Once you have them, click the button next to the item you wish to upgrade. The upgrade window will display an indicator of the percentage of your odds of success. The percentage is based on the level of upgrade for the item level upgrade as well as the core type you have chosen.
You can also select a safeguard for your item, which will protect your item in the event of failure. The cost of this protection may vary but will always be less expensive than the cost of purchasing a new item. The safeguard is only available once per upgrade, and will not expire unless it is used again.
The interface for the item upgrader can be a bit confusing, but isn't impossible to navigate. The main menu is visible on the left and the upgrade window is displayed on the right. The arrows on the left of the UI indicate the different stages during the upgrade process. If you're not certain what you're doing, click the question mark icon to seek help. The upgrade process can take as long as five minutes.
