The best robotic mop and vacuum Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Examine your robot's brush regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them if needed. Some models will also empty the onboard dust bin and place it in an additional bin located at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They have motors that are top of the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other top iRobot models (including the top choice) they utilize intelligent mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept at cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and works when you're at work or in school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with a powerful suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the best automatic vacuum robot hoover for carpets, though it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to offer cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to pull back and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire house, finishing with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job cleaning a range of rooms and floors with mixed flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums, a feature that we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that appears much like a Roomba model than the bulky models of the rivals. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum with mop we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings prior to work or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and better-looking. If you're willing to live some more volume and a little more cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with an option known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

If you have a larger home, it is worth selecting a robot that comes with spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. A stairway mode is useful if you own a number of furniture. Also the recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you might think from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that is washable.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and underneath furniture more easily. It has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also comes with an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
