What Will Item Upgrade Be Like In 100 Years
WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The Item Level upgrade upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item upgrade level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items which can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will display the preview of an item upgrading's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.
Many locations offer item upgraders in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via a variety of means that are both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and numerous new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This applies even if those items come from another set of equipment.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced also, but is only available when certain milestones are reached.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a few choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
The first thing to remember is that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. This could be by engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
