However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our tests. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, it's worth choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes.
