7 Easy Tips For Totally Rocking Your Robot Vacuum Deals
Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
This is your time to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's top-rated models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday and can save you up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its running time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. Its most notable innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. It makes use of AI to recognize objects like charging cords and shoes. It's also the first to automatically send you a picture of the object it comes across so that you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo j7+ is also the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep areas you don't want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it by voice.
The design is also superior to the other models. It features a sleek, top piece that resembles a toy rather than the loud and annoying robot. Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal System is also self-emptying which will reduce your cleaning time.
In our tests, we observed that the j7+ was quick to removed dust, dirt, and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in its place rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able to collect small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a bit of grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. It did all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.
The j7+, though not as intelligent as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum robot vacuum cleaner top 10 from iRobot, and it isn't able to clean the stairs, is still an option for those who require both a vacuum and a mop. It's not expensive, and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic vacuum cleaner amazon cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to know whether the update is working until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the best self cleaning vacuum choice is probably one that is a hybrid. These robots come with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. They also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The negative is that they tend to be expensive at retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.
Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. This is the least expensive model in their auto-empty line. Although it might not come with some of the premium features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent choice when you're willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.
The Q5+ is exceptionally soft when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is an area that most robot vacuums of lower quality aren't able to meet. The Q5+'s navigation system is also superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.
Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled using a few buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas or alter your home map, or change the room's label.
If you select the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed, emptying the bin can be done with relative ease. It comes with a huge LCD screen that is very useful in setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This isn't a necessity for most people but it can assist you in keeping track of your robot's maintenance intervals easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively smart in both its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is one of the best self cleaning vacuum in the industry however it's quite expensive.
It's a tiny base station that looks beautiful and can be hidden when not in use. But the station's biggest selling factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that most other robots will leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the only robovacs that I've tried that does a really good job of collecting debris from bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, which means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the home. It's also not able to climb stairs like other competitors and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.
While it doesn't offer the same amount of cleaning configuration options in its app or as many in-app shortcuts as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comprehensive mop and robot vacuum that's worth the higher price cost.
If you're looking to cut costs or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. Many eufy models cost significantly less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper and has more features, including stairs and a fully-function Dock, that provides the ability to provide a more thorough vacuuming experience on bare floors, low-pile carpets as well as high-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of creating robot cleaner vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpeted floors, as well as mopping functions at an affordable price. It's simple to set up, just attach one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app takes you through the steps needed to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock close to a power outlet and ample space to allow it to move around but.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise It will fit under many couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design is more subtle compared to some rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern for two minutes) Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.
The way the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from its competitors. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. When it needs to recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning where it left off.
The elegant G30 isn't without faults, though. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, has a similar battery life, and performs better on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't need to be empty as often and comes with the boundaries to ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30 however, is more affordable and is much simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't need emptying as often and it struggles less with bulky material like cereal.
