World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrade lets players boost the gear rating of an item by up 700 points, and then give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the Kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like perfect rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while others like weapons don't change much post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. A lot of weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. In some instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are exceptionally lucky.

It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their performance. For instance, if you have a helm or chest, this will increase the defense of its base, while gloves and belts increase their strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may roll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will gain upon upgrading in addition to their respective values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button within the item upgrader kit menu using the arrows that circle. This will roll an item level upgrade and change its statistics, but it will not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.

Armor

Making a few improvements to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, making traversing tough areas a breeze. The more defense your character is, the more value you will get out of each point of health you possess therefore it is important to improve your armor as much as you can.

To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a unique side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and completed the fountain in question you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each will vary. In general, you're looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in frigid conditions with a lot of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you're able to survive a battle with your friends.

You can't upgrade your armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical power or spell power. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also get some perks for your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have some upgrades of the chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by a participant, produce an immediate effect. There are five types of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing their level of effect. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.

Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by making them on a crafting table or in an Alchemist's chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's Rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens a GUI where you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP total.

When a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate in the event that you use it again or break the bottle within which it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds displayed on the item upgrader kit hover display. The table for potion is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be mixed in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion within a cauldron that is full. This will draw out the liquid, and then refill the bottle.

There are also lingering potions that are brewed using splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The potion table is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a tiny and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It can be a reference to an object or ornament that serves a purpose but is not particularly significant, such as a trinket. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their status.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrades to trinkets are an affordable alternative to buying a new one. You can upgrade a trinket with just 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as old one, and will come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Once the old Trinkets are no longer useful, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value with time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment they will not replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). When deciding which items to upgrade, players must also consider their class's preferred statistics. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and helm.

When they are no longer useful trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket has an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket until it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still less expensive than buying a new one.
