The best robot cleaner Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuum can clean and vacuum your floors with no effort. It also leaves clean. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as a dirt detector) are a plus.

Be sure to examine the brushes of your robot for hair tangled as well as large debris and wash them if needed. Some models will also empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in a larger bin located at the base. This can reduce the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums with mop vacuums we've examined. They have motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model) they utilize smart mapping to create detailed floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture leg. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it spots a lot of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a great deal for those whose home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into an elegant, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has strong suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, however it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it will learn your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the task of cleaning a whole home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on a variety of flooring and rooms with different flooring types including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models of the competition. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work or during the night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it will cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features that let you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to create floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also comes with an option known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the home based on how dirty these areas tend to be.

For bigger homes, it's worth opting for one with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your home by using the app or voice controls. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have lot furniture. For busy families, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be very useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other robot vacuum best mop cleaners we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to organize the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app also grants access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
