World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Depending on the type of upgrade item you choose, it may increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and increase other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increase when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all the upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly depending on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the number of perks that need to be modified to upgrade an item.

The level of an item is a commonly used measurement of power and is visible on all item tooltips. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. The average level of an item can be found in the character sheet.

Using the item level can help players compare the power of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an excellent indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it is capable of causing. The item level can also be used to compare items when examining a vendor's inventory.

On PC, you are able to check the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the level of an item is calculated. One theory says that the item level is calculated by an equation that determines the value of the stats of an item really are. It considers that different benefits are valued differently and that gems found in sockets increase the item's value. This could result in a calculated item's ilvl that is often very close to Blizzards actual item level.

This is not the only factor that influences the level of an item. The location of where the item was dropped may alter its stats. For example, it could increase the item upgrader kit's haste, or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

item level upgrade stats are a big element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded once, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give items extra damage or other special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other options for rerolling.

Players can upgrade an item to a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item are determined by the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the specified range, unless it is a unique item or an item that is a God roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or choosing which stats to increase. As with the base equipment, it would have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of item upgrader kit discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players a chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more valuable in early game runs as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance that increases with each level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted using the Luck property, which has the default value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck, or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items are available in the shop or created using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be costly and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to the extent to which the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%.

The luck of an item can influence the success of an upgrade. Every item has an overall success rate of 25%, and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects may be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
