World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will be able to gain 3% of its previous damage every time it's upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them. The item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is used (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player can get up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item upgrade will become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Using a Glyph will boost all the nodes that are connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item the original item will be replaced by a new item upgrader. The same armor can be transformed into the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback in that the item could increase in price even if you do not need it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do so. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of extra bonuses. This can be beneficial, but shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item upgrade is extremely valuable in PvP, as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the piece, whereas upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will result in the item returning to its initial state and the player having to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its value. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items might require different upgrades than regular gear. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of the ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the costs listed above.
