Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the chance of finding items, the properties that are spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is more beneficial for early game runs, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance that increases with each item level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons come with a default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to increase the existing Luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that causes damage by 5percent. These items are available from the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading the item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much the success rates can be improved and the chance of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%.

The success of an item upgrade is also affected by the luck of the item. Each item has an initial success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.
