WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item upgrades by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item level Upgrade has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item upgrader mod from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will display an image of the item at its next upgrade items level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is even if the items come from a different set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut also, but is only available once certain milestones are reached.

Crests

Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once an item upgrader kit reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It's Best item upgrade to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
