Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.
It's still a great deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its smart cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.
This high-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and customize zones with the well-designed app. It has a battery lifespan that is comparable to other models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to take off and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot vacuums with mop that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It comes with an easy mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work, or during the night when you are trying to sleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and look better. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable, but it's going to cost you more and make more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop (visit the next web site), with many advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, and washes and drys mop pads.
The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles, making it more efficient than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the autonomous vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the house based on how dirty those areas tend to be.
If you own a larger home, it is worth selecting a robot that comes with spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stair mode can be useful if you have a large furniture. Additionally the recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might imagine from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to guide you through a mapping run, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or create an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
