It's thus susceptible to become stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a great option for those who want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also extremely quiet and works when you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

It can even clean the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we've not seen on other robot vacuum cleaner best vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the bulky models from the competition. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's loud which could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are similarly capable and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however it's more expensive and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that will let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and fills up the water tank, and cleans and dries mop pads.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might imagine from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using a single pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, plan an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
