When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be hybrid. These machines are equipped with a water tank so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. They also have a number of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they can be pricey at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.

Roborock makes some of our most loved robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model. While it doesn't have certain features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great option for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning dust bunnies, which is a place which many robot vacuums often be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation system is also superb, with only a few mishaps along walls or in corners.

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly intelligent vacuum cleaner in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and features are among the top available - but it's also pricey.

It's a tiny base station that looks beautiful and can be hidden when not in use. The station's main selling point is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions and chores that other robots would leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require you to perform this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's one of the few robovacs I've tried that does a really good job of picking up debris on unfinished floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a dock that can create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.

Although it doesn't have as many in terms of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for a comprehensive mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price cost.

If you're looking to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. A lot of eufy models are considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and provides an identical experience on the app with more features like stair climbing, a full-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
