WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrades upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgrades upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with a The button will show the preview of an Item Level upgrade's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.

The upgrade items cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available in many places, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through various methods that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with some new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is even if the items come from a different set of equipment.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to gear of a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade item for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. For instance it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which will only be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
