Path of Exile Item Upgrades

item upgrading upgrades (hop over to this site) are a common and essential way to boost the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can be a good source of extra damage and more AD or even more attaches.

Sometimes, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade gear because of their requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be used on weapons and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the item they are attached to. Armor upgrades are found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged by using an expert or higher salvage kit to recover upgrade components from other items.

The amount of damage that an armored item or weapon will absorb is contingent on the degree of upgrades. The upgrade of an armor piece to maximum upgrade level will increase its ability to absorb damage. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it should be heavier.

There are several different types of armor upgrades available in the game. Each has a different impact. Certain upgrades give armor an extra number of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The type of armor upgrade that an item upgrader mod will receive is indicated by the name of the upgrade, as illustrated in the table below.

Some upgrades are magic or a hybrid of technology and magic, which is indicated by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Additionally, some upgrades require a charge to use, and are shown by an "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges associated with these upgrades refresh daily or never expire depending on the upgrade.

The cheapest method to upgrade armor is to use Iron Ore, which can be found by exploring the environment and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive however it is obtainable from the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high level armor pieces. These upgrades can give significant boost to performance and are worth the investment, especially for 1-handed weapons.

The player should be aware that upgrading a piece to the maximum upgrade level can increase its defense value. However, it can also reduce its agility and its speed. This is why it is generally not recommended to upgrade the majority of armor pieces beyond +9, because the increase in defense is generally not worth the weight and power costs of the improvements required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of an weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Certain weapons come with special upgrades to improve their inherent qualities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and minimizes weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).

Most upgrades for weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade. These can be obtained by completing Side Quests or killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.

The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars are required to complete it. The cost of the upgrades will be lower if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets has changed a bit. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would be reset.

It's still possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off visiting stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These items will have a greater likelihood of granting you most prestigious tier of benefits and blessings.

Most players will want to make the most of upgrades to weapons they use most frequently to help them level up faster. Additionally players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their squadmates to make them more powerful as well. Shepard for instance, should upgrade the M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when accompanied with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to improve the stats of a character or to provide additional effects in armor and weapons. They can be created through a process called jewelry crafting, which is where you combine a gemstone and a number of specific ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the grade of the gemstone is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents can be gotten from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or by finding Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The Jeweler can improve the quality of a gem in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Based on the level of the jewel it will give different stat boost when slotted into gear, weapons and jewelry.

The Jeweler can craft all kinds of gems, apart from the rare and legendary ones which require certain levels to gain. Jewels can be substituted with another jewel without damaging the original. You can only replace the jewel once in an item of equipment.

It is normal to use more jewelry for aesthetic reasons. In addition to improving performance, the jewels also create an area that is stronger than metal, which means that repeated friction from pivots doesn't cause damage as easily.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your weapons and shields. These glyphs offer a small boost in power and can be traded, but they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis or traits cannot be exchanged, and can only be retrieved through an upgrade extractor or salvaging using Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage.

Trinkets

Trinkets are items of equipment that provide many tiny but valuable advantages to your hero. You can find them in the starting area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained from vendors as well as through completing road interaction. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket that a player can unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but valuable boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player can then acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar fashion similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has a slot for an upgrade that can be either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be put into any type of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded, and only works with certain kinds of trinkets.

These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This allows the hero to perform better when they are not active, and can also help to compensate for the absence of a strong team or the absence of any slots in the talent tree that would normally be filled with the hero's Best item upgrader stats.

A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item being upgraded. This is especially true when an item upgrader kit has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade, since it's generally better to upgrade just one important stat than two sub-optimal ones.

Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one at the beginning of the game. Top and mid players however they will select a green or a pink ward, based on the matchup. These choices can impact the ability of a hero to control the map.

In addition to the items mentioned above, players may also find a number of other items in the form of awards and trophies. These can be obtained through completing certain milestones within the story. For example, completing a chapter’s main quest or beating the boss. They can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
