The Three Greatest Moments In Robot Vacuum Deals History
Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've always wanted to get a robot vacuum, now is the time. CNET's top-highest rated robot vacuum models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with savings of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping using app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its most notable advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. It makes use of AI to recognize objects such as charging cords and shoes. It's the first robot to send you pictures of the objects that it encounters, so you can tell the robot to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills easily and leaves no trace of it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app, which allows you to schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't sweep areas you don't want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it with a voice.
The design is also better than the competition. It features a sleek, top piece that resembles an toy, not an obnoxious and loud robot. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying and is ideal to speed up cleaning.
In our tests, we observed that the j7+ quickly eliminated dirt, dust and hair from pets. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one location rather than sending it scattering across the floor. It was able to capture sand, small gravel and even a tiny bit of grit. most expensive robot vacuum robots could not do this. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
While it's not quite as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum, which isn't able to clean stairs The J7+ is an excellent choice for those who need a vac and a mop in their home. It's not too expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however we've found it be less reliable than other applications that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates and it can be difficult to determine if they are working until you actually see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking to purchase a robot vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the best rated robot vacuum choice is probably one that is a hybrid. These bots are equipped with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. They also have a number of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. The negative is that they tend to be pricey at full retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.
Roborock is one of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and while it's not equipped with some of the premium features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is notably soft around obstacles like tables and walls, which makes it a good choice for homes with lots of furniture. It is also very thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is a area where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is superb, with only a few mishaps on walls and corners.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by the buttons on the device or via the Roborock app. Through the app, you can start and stop cleaning, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and adjust your home map or change the labeling of rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+, it comes with a new auto-empty dock that's specifically designed to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's installed, the process of emptying the bin is easy. It also features a large LCD display that is great to have when creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't a necessary feature for everyone but it will aid in keeping track of your robot's maintenance intervals effortlessly.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and function are some of the most advanced available - but it's also pricey.
It is a relatively small base station that looks great and is able to be concealed when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that does very well at cleaning up debris from plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly in terms of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, meaning it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a cleaning area for plush carpets.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do everything.
If you're looking to cut costs or aren't averse to the limitations of the bagless robot vacuum, there are many alternatives available. Many eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example is a bit more expensive, but offers many more features, like the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, which provides a better overall vacuuming experience on floors that are unfinished, low-pile carpets as well as high-pile ones.
4. Eufy RoboVac g30
Eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of making robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpet floors, as well as a mopping function at an affordable price. It's easy to setup, just snap one of the side brushes on, turn it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app guides you through the steps needed to connect it to Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock near an outlet for power and plenty of room to allow it to move, however.
The G30 is a tiny device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it can be tucked away under couches and pieces of low-clearance furniture. Its design is less flashy than some of the rival models, sporting sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.
The most important aspect that sets the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It uses an integrated map to make an image of the unmovable objects in its path. It keeps track of the things it has cleaned and where it cannot access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning where it left off.
The eufy G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring costs, is charged faster and has a similar battery life. It also offers better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It has a larger dust bin that does not require as much emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and it's less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
