The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on bare floors They are also adept in removing hair from dogs. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our first option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also very quiet and can be used when you're at work or going to school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, however it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models This robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an easy mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some extra cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, as well as washes and dry mop pads.
The smart robot vacuums that mop uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. Additionally, a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that can be washed.
The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It does a good job vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
