World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them; the item must be at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment to which it is used (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item upgrader mod's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment using less Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to double or even eliminate possibility of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.

In the final game, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for example should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could cause the item to become more expensive if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will have an initial level and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good idea, but should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an item it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to go back to its original state, which will force the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade item requirements from regular gear. For example they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. The player will still need to bring every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of the ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
