The i3+ doesn't have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have test. It could be stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between surfaces, such as hardwood and rug.
iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including clearing out any clutter or toys it may encounter. Also, keep the filters and dust bin free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station's dust bin. Then it continues cleaning from where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and it takes about three hours to recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and is packed with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most important feature of all -- it comes with a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that lets it create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or voice.
The i7+ is quicker and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and reduces the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households, but it also fits perfectly next to the coffee table or a bookshelf where you can move it around like a magic wand.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then lets cleaner air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpets to trap large particles and fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to meet the task at hand. It swiftly switches from floor vac to handheld vacuum and back again.
This model comes with a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also offers an easy access to two attachments as well as the wand. This is a major improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. The tests conducted by CR show that its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. It could pick up all kinds of debris and sizes during our testing and often went over the same area several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and the edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and navigate your home. However, it lacks the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, like our top picks, i3+EVO and J7+ Series. It can get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its original location.

In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and removed 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it wasn't particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks which was a disappointment. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested, and this could be a deterrent for some buyers.

The app allows you to manually steer the robot when needed. For example, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that has a tendency to make it difficult for other robots I've tested.
