15 Reasons To Not Ignore Robot Vacuum And Mop
Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos
Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable, acing our tests of cleaning and tackling various floor types. Choose models that permit users to select between different types, including self-emptying and clean stairs.
Many of the best robot vacuum models are compatible with your smartphone. Find an app that allows you to save maps, schedules and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The black and gloss gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos available. It uses lidar to navigate, create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean app to let you set up schedules and modify the behavior of the S1.
The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which includes linoleum flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms and a carpet in the middle and a large area. It was capable of driving up to walls and even cross raised thresholds without issue. However it had some issues traversing the stairs in one step. The S1 performed admirably in cleaning hard floors. The mop sped along on its flat side and lifted itself when it was near carpets or rug.
Prior to each mopping session the docking station of the S1 automatically empties its dustbin and refills the water tank with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1's water tank holds enough water for about a dozen cleaning sessions before needing to be cleaned, although this will vary depending the amount you use the mop.
The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. In order to do this, you'll have to rinse out the water tank that is dirty regularly to avoid it from clogging. It is also necessary to clean the swivel wheel and sensors regularly to keep them from becoming clogged with dust or dirt. But, overall, the S1 is simple to maintain, particularly compared to other models that require more hands-on maintenance.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs all-in-one robotic vacuum and mop is an efficient solution to your cleaning needs. Its robot vacuum boasts 8700Pa of suction and comes with many innovative features, such as full home mapping, voice control, and smart path-planning that eliminates obstructions and cleans furniture. Its mopping ability is impressive. Rotating mop pads actually lift floors and scrub it, rather than just moving a pad across the surface. The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station as required.
This robot has an easy-to-use interface that guides you through the process. It also comes with a hand vacuum which can be used to clean hard-to reach areas that the robot vacuums with mop can't reach. There are also two water tanks that can be automatically emptied or refilled. It has a variety of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does excellent job of vacuuming, with strong suction that easily removes most of the debris, and even tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation abilities are also decent, but it can be stuck on small area mats and rugs at my home (which you can alleviate by creating virtual boundaries within the app). The mopping capabilities are quite good robot vacuum as well, with two spinning mop heads that actually lift and scrub floors, as opposed to just dragging the pad over it. The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station whenever needed. The mops are also replenished at the top of the station as needed.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. But their latest flagship model comes with even more impressive features. It boasts fantastic cleaning results and hands-free maintenance, making it a clear contender for our top mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush guarantee a thorough, custom-designed clean.
The X40 Ultra vacuums well, it can remove both large and fine debris. It is equally effective on hard floors and carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest places of our tests with ease, avoiding pet hairs and other mess. The sweeping capabilities are augmented by a side brush that extends to reach hard-to-reach corners, and an extending mop pad that is placed along baseboards.
Its navigation system is intelligent that can navigate tight spaces and climbing the stairs without a hitch. It can move from one room to another without reversing direction it is a useful feature for homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is not as advanced than its competitors however, and tends to leave a thick space around obstacles, which can result in missed spots.
Its app has a streamlined, intuitive interface that should be easy to use for both new and experienced users. The app allows you to plan and manage cleanings, change mopping and suction power settings as well as view 3D and 2D maps, and much more. You can control it via the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also remotely control the X40 Ultra camera for real-time monitoring. You'll require a reliable WiFi connection to use the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 Pro
Robot vacuums are excellent at picking up dirt and debris but they're not able to get every bit of dust. It's important to vacuum often, at least once a week. This is especially important for dust that builds up in corners, on shelves and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums and mops, is designed to do just that. It's easy to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network and integrates with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more convenient addition to your daily cleaning routine.
The Q5 is a stripped down version of the more expensive S-series models from the company, such as the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It has the same LIDAR mapping sensor, but cuts down on price by eliminating mopping and using a lower-cost plastic body.
Even though it's not able to mop floors, the Q5 still offers the most impressive mopping and vacuum performance we've seen from a robot at this price. It features a powerful suction of 5500Pa and an auto vacuum and mop-empty system, so you don't have to manually empty the bin every time. It also comes with a smart app that lets you select the type of floor and schedule cleanings, and an automatic refill of the water tank and wash system for hands-free operation.
Its mops are also impressive, with a 2700Pa capacity to tackle dirt and pet hair, on both carpets and hard flooring. The Q5 was among the few robots we tested to not have a problem with high-pile area rugs and carpets. However, it could not handle kitty litter or cable tangles. This isn't too surprising because it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle-avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is one of the quietest robot vacuums we have tested. It also utilizes a unique system to map your home. This will allow it to enter the corners and tight spaces that other vacuums cannot reach. It also collects dust in a larger bin which means you have empty it less frequently. It also has washable filters that further lower the cost of using the device. This robot can also detect carpets and boost the suction when needed. The app also allows you to mark areas you want to avoid and is a great feature.
