1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model), they use smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also have carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our first option. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.

It's also extremely quiet and operates while you are at work or at school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. If you need to, the mopping pad can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.
