Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one go without having to swap out devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its modest price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual will have you running in no time. You'll have a the complete dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you pick the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can request the robot vacuums that mop to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only minor issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at a high speed, but a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station features an LCD display that shows the need for maintenance like emptying the debris and washing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to see every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum, is the newest version. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pick up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It can then change its path in a way that is automatic hoover and clean around the objects without stumbling.

It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it only has three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.

The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor battery life. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its clever design permits personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful autonomous vacuum cleans up dry mess, including pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

Another noteworthy feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to get under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through the frequent back-and-forth movement.

In contrast to other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or separately. It can also be programmed to skip areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is user-friendly and simple to use and the X40's clever features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, view floor plans and maps, and control mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has numerous features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot vacuum best that's among the most expensive on the market and comes with numerous additional features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and soiled spots.

The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it stops the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a useful method to keep your home clean for longer.

There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app or buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning process, and there are a lot of functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a little heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
