15 Reasons Not To Ignore Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrades by 3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item level upgrade used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a benefit and a drawback.
In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if those items are from a different set of equipment.
The discount is available to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment of a particular rank, and that each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their gear up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another important change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrader gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
