Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum can keep your floors tidy enough to decrease the frequency of manual hoovering. Find one that has an easy navigation, can clean stairs and corners, and has a large dust bin that requires emptying only once in a while.

There are also models that clean and charge on their own, a feature that may be important for people with pets or kids. Many of the best automatic vacuum cleaner performers in our tests have great obstacles to avoid.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent option for those who want a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot once it gets full.

Both robots are good at removing surface dirt on floors and carpets and can navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ and other top rated robot Vacuum rated robots we evaluated the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles and therefore it could get stuck on things such as power cords or socks, and may have issues in navigating through transitions between surfaces like from hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends that you tidy the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it may encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filter clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and takes the dirt out of the docking station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it left off. Battery life is about an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes 3 hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and comes with the latest technology. It is self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is its auto-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot with voice or via the app.

In our testing the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin, which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery, which produces power without fading for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system removes allergens, and then releases cleaner air back into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and collect large particles or fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to match the task being performed. It is able to quickly change between handheld and floor vacuum and vice versa.

This model comes with a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also gives easy access to 2 attachments and an wand. This is a big improvement over earlier Dysons, which require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its limited running time. Its marketing claims that it can last up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is a typical battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to clean most of an average-sized house but not long enough to cover every spot (though a second run-through usually will suffice). However, this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is noticeably better on low-pile carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to invest in a robot. It was able to remove all kinds of debris and sizes during our tests, and frequently went over the same area many times for a thorough clean. Its flat front allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models like our top 5 robot vacuum choices and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It may get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower cost of recurring costs and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better maneuver its own. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges quicker.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries strips and can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more durable and has a more powerful motor, and is able to perform better on bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a greater variety of automation features.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's no surprise that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app offers a wide range of options to customize your robotic vacuum cleaner on sale cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings, and more. It's easy to comprehend and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86 percent of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller items such as cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we've tested and could be a deterrent for some shoppers.

The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that can be accessed through the app. You can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to monitor your pets or children while you are away. The dustbin and filter are washable for quick, easy cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps keep the bin clean and optimizes suction power.

6. Black & Decker best buy robot vacuum Vacuum

Unlike other robotic vacuum cleaner on sale vacuums, which are designed for both carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They have an extra-wide cleaning path and dust bins that are 2X larger than the competition. This lets them keep the area clean for longer. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers to clean along edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense which adjusts the power level according to whether it's picking up dirt that is on the surface or embedded. It also includes a smart application that lets you see the virtual map and manage the functions and schedules. Additionally, you can track the battery's status and send it back to its dock for charging by pressing one button. The app allows you to alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to determine where it is focused or if it has gotten stuck.

The app also makes it simple to manually steer the robot in the event of need. My living room rug for example, has a darkly-colored border that could cause trouble for other robots. The HRV 425BL however was able to continue to move across the border, without notifying the high point. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving convenience.
