WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to level up weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item Level upgrade and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

Many locations offer item level upgrade upgraders, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded. It can also be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and an issue.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with some new features added. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is even if those items come from an entirely different set of equipment.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests depending on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The use of these currencies isn't too complicated, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is Best item upgrade to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality gear.
