1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its most significant advancement is an obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often slough through). It's also the first to automatically send you a picture of any object it encounters so you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot to mop we've ever tested, picking up dirt and spills with ease while leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. You can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't vacuum in areas you don’t wish to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.
Its design is superior to the rest with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base automatic cleaning robot Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying, which is great for reducing your cleanup time.
In our tests, we observed that the j7+ swiftly eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering around the floor. It was able to capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a little grit. Most robots can't achieve this feat. And it did all this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shed.
The j7+, although not as smart robot vacuums as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and can't clean the stairs, it's an excellent choice for those who want both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable as other robotic vacuum cleaner comparison cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and often it's difficult to tell if the update is actually functioning until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you are looking for a robot automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean your floors A hybrid is the best choice. These robots come with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. They also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. The negative is that they can be pricey at full retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.
Roborock is the manufacturer of several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ doesn't perform to the standards. This is the least expensive model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't have some of the more premium features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) but it's an excellent option if you are willing to make a few compromises to save a few bucks.
The Q5+ is remarkably soft when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies, which is an area where cheaper robot vacuums can really fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is also superb, with only a few mishaps on walls and corners.
Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled by the buttons on the device or via the Roborock app. The app lets you begin and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and adjust your home map or re-label rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ it includes a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once in place, emptying the bin is relatively simple. It also has a large LCD display which is great to have when creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't a necessity for most people, but it's one that will assist you in keeping the track of the maintenance intervals for your robot with ease.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is one of the best in the industry however it's quite expensive.
It's a tiny base station that looks great and is able to be concealed when not in use. But the station's biggest selling feature is the way it automatizes many tasks and functions that other robots will leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Many other robots require you to perform this.
Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the only robovac I've used that has done a good job picking up dirt from floors that aren't. And it's not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, meaning it can get stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the home. It also can't climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.
The Freo X Ultra robot automated vacuum cleaner and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do it all.
If you're looking to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example, is cheaper, but offers more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, which provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy is an Anker company that has a history of producing robot vacuums that have the right balance of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpeted flooring, and a mopping function for a low cost. It's easy to set up, simply connect one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to place the dock close to an outlet for power and enough space to allow it to move around however.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise, which means it can be tucked away under sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design is less ostentatious than some rival models, with sleek black finish and three physical buttons such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.
The most important aspect that makes the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It makes use of an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable objects in its path. It remembers the things it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. If it requires a recharge, it automatically returns to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it started.
The eufy G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, has the same battery life and performs better on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It has a bigger dust bin that does not require as much emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand is more affordable and much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and it has less trouble with bulky material like cereal.
