15 Reasons Not To Be Ignoring Robot Vacuum And Mop
Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos
Robot vacuums and mop are getting more powerful. They pass our tests on cleaning and can handle different flooring. Find models that let you choose from multiple modes, use their charging dock to self-empty and clean the stairs.
Many of the top models work with your smartphone. Look for an app that allows you to save maps, set schedules and select cleaning options.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive robot vacuums and mop combinations available. It makes use of lidar to navigate, and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and is compatible with the free Eufy Clean app that lets you set schedules and alter the S1's behaviour.
When I tried the S1, it was quick to identify our downstairs, which has linoleum flooring in the kitchen-diner and bathrooms, along with medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was able to drive right up to walls without hitting them, and even managed to cross thresholds for rooms that are raised without problem, but it sometimes struggled to get down stairs in a single step. The S1 performed well in cleaning hard floors. The mop sped along on its flat side and swung up when it was near carpets or carpets.
Before each mopping session, the docking station of the S1 automatically empties its dustbin and fills up its water tank onboard with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock also provides a deep-cleaning solution to the water. The S1's tank of water holds enough for about a dozen cleaning robot mop and vacuum sessions before it has to be emptied, though it will differ based the amount you use the mop.
The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to wash out the tank that has been contaminated to prevent it from becoming clogged. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheels and sensors regularly to prevent them from becoming clogged with dirt or dust. Overall the S1 is simple to maintain, particularly compared to other combinations that require more care.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs All-in-one robotic vacuum and mop provides an efficient solution for cleaning. The robot vacuum has 8700Pa of suction power and comes with a number innovative features including voice control and smart path planning that cleans around furniture and avoids obstacles. The mopping capabilities of the robot are remarkable, with mops rotating that actually lift and scrub the floor, rather than simply drag the pad across it. The mops can be cleaned and dried at the base station when required.
This robot combination is simple to install and use, with a clear interface that walks you through the procedure. It also comes with a hand-vacuum which can be used to clean those hard-to reach areas that the robot is unable to reach. There are two water tanks which are automatically emptied or filled. It has a variety of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does excellent job of vacuuming, with a strong suction that easily picks up all kinds of debris, including the smaller bits of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are robust, however it can sometimes get caught up on the small rug or area mats I have in my house (which is something you can mitigate by creating a virtual border in the application). Its mopping capabilities are also quite good with a pair of spinning mop pads that are able to lift and scrub floors, rather than just moving the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when needed. The mops are also filled from the top of the base station as needed.
3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was released earlier this year. But their new flagship model is packed with impressive features. It delivers outstanding cleaning results, and it is easy to maintain. This makes it a contender for our list of the top robot vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart detection and an extended side brush will ensure a thorough, customized clean is accomplished.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets. It also cleaned the most filthy areas well, and keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other dirt. The sweeping performance of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush which automatically moves out to get into areas that are difficult to reach and mop pads that run across baseboards.
Its navigation is smart that can navigate tight spaces and climbing stairs without skipping a beat. It can easily move from one room to another without changing direction which is a great feature for larger homes with several rooms. Its obstacle avoidance technology isn't as advanced than other models however, and tends to leave a thick distance around obstacles, which could result in missed spots.
Its app has a streamlined and intuitive interface that will be user-friendly for both new and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and manage cleanings, adjust suction power and mopping settings, view 2D and 3D maps, and more. You can control it through the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also remotely control the X40 Ultra camera for real-time monitoring. You'll need a stable WiFi connection to run the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 pro
A robot vacuum can do a fantastic job of removing dirt and debris but it's not always able to be able to reach every bit of dust. It's important to vacuum often, at least once a week. This is especially important for dust that collects in corners, on shelves, and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums as well as mop, is designed to do exactly that. It's easy to connect it to your WiFI network at home and works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the more expensive models in the S-series from the company, which includes the flagship Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It has the same LIDAR mapping sensors, but it is cheaper because it doesn't have mopping capabilities, and also has plastic body.
The Q5 is one of the most powerful vacuums and mopping robots we've ever seen in this price range, despite not being able to wipe your floor. It has a powerful suction of 5500Pa and an automatic-empty system that means you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. It comes with a smart app which allows you to schedule cleaning times and set the floor type. It also features an automatic water tank filling system and washing system to allow hands-free operation.
The mops are also quite impressive, with 2700Pa of power to take on dust, dirt and pet hair on hard floors and carpets. The Q5 was among the few robots that we tested that did not have issues with high-pile rugs and carpets. However, it was able to not pick up kitty-litter or cable tangles. This isn't surprising because it doesn't contain AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is one of the quietest robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a unique method to map your home this will allow it to enter corners and tight spaces that other vacuums can't reach. It also collects dust in a larger dustbin that means you have empty it less frequently. It also has washable filters which can further cut costs. The robot is also able to detect carpets and boost the suction when needed. You can also mark areas you would like the robot to avoid using the app.
