World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. This value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly depending on the upgrader you choose and the type of upgrade you choose to do. This is due to the fact that many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is restricted to a lower level). The average item level can be found in the character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a good gauge of an item's worth and the amount of damage it will be capable of dealing with. The item level can also be used to compare items when looking at the inventory of a vendor.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are several theories about how the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula that determines the amount an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that various perks have different value, and also that gems in sockets increase the item's overall value. This can lead to an item's ilvl calculated, which is typically very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this is not the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, since the level of the area the item level upgrade is dropped into can change the value of its stats, such as by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats of a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn boosted by the player's level.

The upgrades to items add by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. For instance, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare tiers will be upgraded several times with higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats on an item upgrader mod is through affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to give items extra damage or special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.

All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges similar to other methods of rerolling.

Players can upgrade an item with a specific stat, or reroll attaches. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However every item will have at least one stat within the same range, unless it's an item that is unique or an item that has a God Roll from a raid boss.

This is another aspect that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or choosing which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item basis and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is more beneficial in the early game, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each item level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn with the Luck property, with a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to increase the value of 40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any skill that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items can be bought at the store or made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item if it does not work.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The chance of success can only be increased so high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The success of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of that item. All items have an average success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader - Visit Fsquan 8 - CORE client config.
