WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the Best item upgrade by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item upgrader mod will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item upgrading, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with a The button will show a preview of an item's next upgrade items level, if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via a variety of means which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade items to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less, even when they belong to a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut also, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a couple of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the Item Level Upgrade in the proper steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests only have one use, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
