Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item upgrader in their inventory and access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved in loot from enemies, or obtained from missions and chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.

There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than Upgrade Item components that have a type limitation. Infusions are jewels that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, will add their name to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding a Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph by another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in some key ways. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item is able to be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the required materials do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the impact of those items rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

Once an item has been finished being leveled and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, and a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it is able to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's class. For instance, a rare or unique weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes available for it and legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level, and in which slot it is located in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC grants players the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials however it will result in a lower chance of success.

To measure the height of a building, engineers will use a level to compare the measurement against an established reference point, like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is a vital aspect of the game and can drastically increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other characteristics. This can be done through the menu for items or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be handled with care.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item upgrader mod. Recyclable items come with an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes that made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you'd be able to get the stats that were important most to your build more often than other. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be a good or a negative thing depending on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the power of the item by a specific percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added into the standard affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the better your chances of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also has a number sets that give the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an item. This is a great method to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the initial stages. This is because rerolling could offer a quicker route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in a variety of ways. They can be of various dimensions, contain none at all, or have a single element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They can also be useful in analysing patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.

There are a variety of set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense value and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have many armor or weapons already.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific functions that are beneficial for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level as their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade it. This will display the item upgrader's attributes, along with the required items to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their performance. This will also boost the defense of armor that has an updated look.
