World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can increase the rarity of an item or mark Level and boost additional stats.

The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. This value is the total of all its upgraded advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader you choose and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the number of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

The level of an item is a widely used measure of power, and can be seen on all item tooltips. It is also used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to an lower level). Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment, players can compare the level of an item. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it will be able to deal. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating a vendor's inventory.

On your PC, you can check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete item description, including its level. It can also be found by hovering over an item upgrader mod using the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory says that the item level is calculated by an equation that determines the value of an item's stats actually are. It takes into consideration that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in the sockets increase the item's value. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual item level.

However, this is not the only factor which can affect an item upgrader kit's ilvl as the size of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The item's stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by a player's skill.

Upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded once, while an item with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times with more expensive costs.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is through affixes. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or other special capabilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs), or to differentiate them by adding a name.

All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and other items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it's a unique item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that could be altered by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. Similar to the base equipment, this must be done per item, and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items as well as the properties created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a chance to acquire better equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs as opposed to later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each level of the item. It is also possible to be enhanced by using anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any skill that causes damage by five percent. These items can be found in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item upgrader mod if it fails.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that the Upgrade Item will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item may influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has an overall success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
