The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum that mops vacuum combos. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that also mop, this is the model to go for. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery part way through a clean.

It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one motion. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt hair, pet hair, and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as good. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is useful in difficult corners or along baseboards. The front arms can be used to clean up larger debris, like broken toys or books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot vacuums That Mop mops and vacuums I've tested. It doesn't make as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and works well however this is something that you'll have to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home and also find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and efficiently. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean and is also fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other difficult-to-access spots. They also have a flexible side brush that can be extended to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. In addition, the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to prevent build-up and reduce odors.

Another notable feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction level and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it must make, which will determine how fast the device will move through your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.

The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to remember that the device will incur periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner is rated highly on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. The vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a 'Clean button' and a 'Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time doing chores. It's a top-performing device, intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It is capable of mopping and vacuuming. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps in and out of place. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.

Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature was its precise map of your floorplan that it uses to determine the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up pet hair. It was able to capture many of the hair our cats shed, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots had struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some nice jingles to inform you that it was starting and working towards its goal.

The app was too simple and you had to change the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app can't save multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot vacuum cleaner reviews, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start cleaning, recall the robot, or use the dock's automatic vacuum and mop emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on the child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path. It will avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in finding objects.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during the cleaning process. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad, except that the mopping pad isn't washed or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
