The Best Robot Hoover

The best robotic mop and vacuum robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and it will leave your floors clean. Its low cost and top-of-the-line functions (such as a dirt detector) are both positives.

Check your robot's brushes frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them when necessary. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dust bin and place it in an additional bin at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have examined. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model), they use smart mapping to create detailed floorplans that avoid obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with cameras that let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also very quiet and can work while you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with a powerful suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can modify the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones with the well-designed app. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was excellent, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy models of the competitors. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum cleaners reviews that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum cleaner reviews vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work or at night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive, but it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and better-looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however it's going to cost you more and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features that let you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than its top rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the house depending on how dirty the areas are.

For bigger homes it's worth looking for a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house via the app or voice controls. A stairway mode is useful if you have a number of furniture. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off can be very beneficial.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would expect from its price tag. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it's more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
