For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.

3. IRobot Roomba X40
The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that appears more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the rivals. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work or at night when you're trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and look better. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient, but it's more expensive and produce more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and fills up the water tank, and cleans and drys mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of an array of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its top competitors.
