World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. The value is the sum of all the upgraded perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.

The level of an item is a commonly used measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips of items. It can also be used as a gating requirement while waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). Players can view their average level of item upgrader kit - telegra.ph, on their character sheet.

Using the item level can help players evaluate the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's an excellent indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it's capable of causing. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the item's level.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are various theories about how the calculation of the item's level is made. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula that determines the value of an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that various perks have different value and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item overall. This can result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

This is not the only factor that affects the value of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped can alter its stats. For example it can increase the item's haste or crit score. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game uses a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the Best item upgrade." The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat mods which are then increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to an item may increase the stats of an item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded once and items that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at more expensive costs.

Another method to alter the stats of an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can be used to give the item additional damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing cooldowns) or make the item upgrading unique by putting an additional name to the item.

All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other methods of rerolling.

Players can upgrade an item with a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat within that range unless they are an item that is unique or an item that has a God Roll from a raid boss.

This is another aspect that can be modified by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to boost. As with the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the chance of finding items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it does not, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players a chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more useful in early game runs as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability, which increases with each item level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to increase the value of 40 luck, or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items can be purchased at the store, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

The success rate of an upgrade item is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limitations on the extent to which success rates can be increased, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%.

The performance of an can be affected by the Luck of that item. All items have an initial success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases that chance by 5percent.

The upgrade overlays for items are rendered above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
