The best automatic vacuum and mop Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuum that mops robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and it leaves your floors spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Make sure you regularly check your robot's brushes for hair tangled and large particles and clean them as required. Some models can also self-empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in an additional bin located at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust that gets released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model), they use smart mapping to create detailed floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture legs. The robots also come with the feature of Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and works while you are at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be replaced with a wet one in just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and ensure better cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to take off and extend its mop. This can help avoid cross contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach beneath furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could sweep the entire house, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job cleaning a range of rooms and floors with various flooring types, such as certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically empties into its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our tests. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).

It's the only robotic cleaner and mop vacuum/mop to score an exemplary 10/10 in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

As with other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, but it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and more attractive. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some extra cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.

If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice control. If you have lots of furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be very useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would expect from its price tag. It is a great job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app comes with a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it's more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuum reviews vacuums we have examined. It also has an app that's not as intuitive, and a smaller base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
